Setting: Palandasya Savannah
Participants: Anyone from Palandasya or roaming animals
Time of day: Mid-late day
------------------------------------
Oh swell! What did I do to get in this situation?
The day started out well enough with all the tidbits and elements of young lion life, including the mandatory insect chase. Things went downhill rather quickly when an unfamiliar sound drew Dawa off his normal course and into a glade of tall grass that he normally would just go around. Something was in there! Who better to investigate than him, right? When you're a prince you gotta take responsibility, and Dawa was coming to take that notion to the extreme.
Where he was eager to uncover the hiding creature, it was quite determined to not be found. For a few moments it seemed as if the thing had escaped Dawa's inquisitive eyes. Unfortunately, the intentions of the creature became suddenly clear with the sharp yap-yap of a pouncing jackal.
Luck saved Dawa his tail, but not so much his ear, which now bleeds from a bite that the sneaky little devil has chomped during the brief scuffle. What brought the jackal to dare to target a lion cub could be explained away with a number of reasons, but right now it's clearly intent on it's target. Fortunately, once more, the tree that Dawa is now haphazardly clinging to was there and adorned with a trunk that isn't behooving of a canine to climb. It's also not too great for young lions, either, as Dawa's grip is tenuous at best to the base of a small, lower branch.
The cub is safe for the moment, but no matter the cub's squalls the jackal continues to pace, awaiting the inevitable, whatever it may be.
