Mwenyezi - Waterhole
----
Radi - Spy
Nissasas - Assassin
Bughudhi - King
----
Scene
Radi is soaring through the clouds towards the kopje that serves as home in the Mwenyezi. She has a branch with berries on it in her beak and circles the gathering from above. Kites have good sense of what is going on from a distance and she seems to know that danger lurks just nearby in the ravine, she can sense it and she's seen the rogues. She has the advantage of being able to get out of danger yet still be able to see things. She also blends in well with the landscape. She flutters down to a branch on a acacia tree near the gathering and lets out a call...that Bug should know by now. The call of a unique kite, Radi. She sets the small branch down on the acacia larger tree branch and begins to nibble at the berries. "Good EveninG Lord Bughudi." She sings....
Mish has done a fine job lately keeping out of the way of things.. her ears are privy to some rather unplesent happenings and it certainly concerns her as the young ones of the pride are in danger with such things going on.. she honestly doesn't care what the grown felines do.. any of them.. they can kill each other off as far as she's concerned. The elder lounges in the tall grass not far from the bank of the water, laid out on her side, eyes barely open, mind barely awake...
Bug doesn't look up at the sound right away, but instead takes a quick look around, making sure there were no one that shouldn't be here for a meeting like this. Such meetings were as secret as they came. Seeing no one that shouldn't be here, he grunts his reply, "Nothing good about it." And indeed, it was true. The rouges wanted blood to the east, due to his condition Bug had to stay at the waterhole, so he had no idea what trouble was brewing in the den, and he hurt everywhere. I great evening indeed
The Kite continues to nibble at the berries for a while and then looks down at the lion king dipping her head in a bow. "Your head assassin told me you wanted to see me?" The bird asks. "I have heard some shocking news about security in the kingdom. Is what I have heard among the grazing animals true?"
Like ones very own shadow, a figure with a great skill of going unknown has made her way to the waterhole. Through the grasses she travels, tail hung low, and ears back. The sound of the bird's calling is not even looked at as she comes to a stop just before the king of the lands. Her presences here is known only to a few and Nissasas likes it like that...
Mmm? Mish blinks her eyes open fully just before her head lights slightly in order to turn and cup her ear towards the sound of voices.. eh? Sounds like Bug and.. and.. something else. She blinks slowly, wearily, listening silently for the moment.
Bug was not in a good mood tonight, but since the kite knew him, that really shouldn't surprise her. "To know what the grazing animals said, I would have to talk to them. And then I would have no need for you, wouldn't I?" he sits, grimacing as it felt as though he skin was stretched too tight. "Now what news do you have. I know of the situation with the rouges already." His mind draws back to the night before, his brain working, trying to find a way to use an otherwise horrible situation to his advantage.
Radi looks down at her king. "News? Not much, other than the rogues remain at the ravine...they have yet to move all day....many of the grazing animals that remain in the mwenyezi have told me they are becoming restless....they are worried about the security here, and the threat from those lions, among other things, the situation in the Pride-lands. They have told me if things don't get better in the near future, many of them might consider moving to a place where they feel safer." She says. "Unfortunately for us, the rogues remaining where they are, blocking the ravine, makes it difficult to hunt as freely as we have before." She says. "The huntresses continue to report dwindling food supplies." She says. The Kite nods to the lioness known as Nissa..."Good Evening Nissa." She says....with a pleasant chirp. "How have you been?" She then turns back to Bug. "That is all I have to report sire."
Nissasas gives a minicing chuckles as Bug practially insults the kite; the smirk on her face disappearing at the news Radi has to offer. Unfortunitly, she could of given the same exact news should she had been asked herself. Stepping up beside Bug, brushing against his side with her tail. "Evening Sir." She says in a low enough tone for only him to hear. Her renewed glance up to the bird is given sorely as no answer is given to indicate her well being.
Mmm.. politics and still that doesn't really concern Mish. The elder cheetah sets her head back down, exhaling a long breath and letting her eyes flutter shut for now, still listening for lack of better things to do.
Great. Now with news of that on top of the rouge problem...Well, to say Bug was stressed was an understatement. "Any movement in the pridelands?" he asks, hoping for good news, but he hasn't heard of any movement from his other contacts. he ingores the assassin for now, knowing that she wasn't really expecting an answer. he's never answered her before when he didn't need to. His mind clicked. Something was there. Some big idea. But it's gone before Bug can realize it, leaving him with nothing more then the post high depression that comes from losing a great idea.
Radi blinks. Movement? She only saw grazing animals....and well a few meerkats in the nearby colony, a elephant or two....a few cubs here and there and pride-lionesses watching them. But other than that she didn't see much activity around the pride-lands. It seems everyone is taking a break from politics and resting up? Anyway nothing seemed out of the ordinary to her. So the kite flies up to a branch a bit higher out of reach of the scary lioness...and dips her beak towards Bug. "No Sir, I didn't see any such movement ....it seems everyone was pretty relaxed and seemed to be resting for something." She says. "I did note there is much more prey in the pride-lands than here...Apparently they have better water or grasslands or something." She says.
Gently placing herself onto her haunches, tail taking its place just at her side, the void between the lioness' lack of words and her intenitive listening come to a sudden collision as she becomes that renound shadows she loves to be. Why speak when you don't have to, and theres nothing better than listening. Nissasas never expected a reply from the King, and the silence towards her indicates its always been that way. She has one duty in the pride and thats to take life; its what she loves doing, why interupt it with meaningless words. Glancing to the ground, her claws etching the harden dirt benieth her, Nissa furthers her listening with cuped ears. Hardly believeing the Kites' words the lioness rolls her eyes. The pridelanders are always up to something, perhaps the birds observation skills are.. for the lack of better words, out of focus. Niss chuckles to herself looking up to catch Radi's perched position.
Pridelands have better prey...What breaking news. The huntresses have been telling Bug that for weeks, along with news that any herds in Mweny were on their move out. Bug sighs inwardly. No good news. And bug was really hoping. "And what if the rouges? What are their numbers? Their exact location?" The bird knew the drill. Numbers, how well are they fed, how well is the position defensible, etc. Bug sits too, next to the assassin, looking up to the bird, his mind already planning even without the bird's news of the rouges abilities, the memory of whatever that idea was haunting his mind.
Radi glances down at the lioness who still hasn't introduced herself and shrugs. Maybe one to keep out of reach from? If she doesn't ever speak, it will be hard to find out much about her. She glances to Bug. "The rogues....last time I checked they were at the ravine....still three and the cub to the best of my knowledge....though I haven't checked in two suns. Would you like me to fly in a bit closer and see what I can find out from the rogues?" She asks. "To get a clear scope of everything you request, I will need a few days, and to get closer...without them knowing I'm associated with Mwenyezi." She says. "If you grant me permission, I will do the best job I can to gather as much information as possible." She replies. Hey, she doesn't want to make it so obvious that the rogues somehow figure out she's working with mweny.
High above, Radi thinks the trees elevation will protect her from the dangers below; and she may be right. Nissasas would no sooner become a fool for trying to climb after her, thus she remains grounded; but don't for one moment think she's giving up so easily. Her gaze remains on the bird for a while longer before turning over to Bug as he settles down beside her. Niss only smirks. When the Kites speaks yet again she slowly looks upwards once more. Does the question even need to be asked. Bug shouldn't even answer that. The rogues would find out who Radi was with or without the obvious inclination. Their leader may be dumb, but surely those who follow him are not.
Bug thinks differently. Birds fly overhead all day, several of which circle on the hot drafts from the sun-baked dirt. Even the smartest of lions would not expect her, if the kite did it well. Lions who were wary of such small things as a flying bird were paranoid. That's why a bird made such a good spy. "Done. You have your days. Be back as soon as you get your specifications."
Radi nods..."Very well I shall leave at once. The pride has my blessings while I am away....be safe, and let us prosper." The kite says, dipping a wing, before preparing to take off. "I shall be back in two suns time." She says. "The rogues will be watched like a hawk." She says and chuckles at this.
Nissasas can hardly believe that Bug would allow such a sorry looking bird take on such a task. She only hopes Radi gets herself killed before returning. Looking to Bug just as the Kite leaves, she shakes her head. "I hope your faith in this bird is worth it." her voice low. "I for one find her abilities... amiss." Her tail thuds against the ground at the end of her speech.
The bird has yet to let Bug down, so why should he not have some faith in her? "Your sentiment is noted, though she has yet to fail me." Bug looks to the retreating form of the bird, flapping eastward. "Though if she does, you shall be the one to silence her beak," he says, knowing how much that prosect would please the lioness. Bug stands slowly, turning himself around. He was feeling better at least, though not by much. "If you wish, you may also do detail on the rouges to the east. If you choose to, remain unseen and do not make contact, as if you do I have no doubt that you will not return fully...intact. You are dismissed.
