Remote Water hole
Water is Sem's true love, and that's where the speechless lion is now. In the setting sun, the small waterhole appears fiery orange in color, and Sem's pale colored pelt and mane appear to blend into the liquid surroundings. The assassin half-crouches in the water with only the top half of his face visible. His eyes are closed and his ears lay in a placid position, but make no mistake: he is very aware of his surroundings.
Loungeing just outside the banks of the murky, yet small waterhole, Shausha poses the perfect scene of death; only the rise and fall of her chest indicate her apparent lack for the real thing. Blinded by the ruffeled hairs that decor her head and a lone paw, she relies on her senses to provide warning of ones approach. A quiet day means lazy lions.. how else could to describe the picture seen here.
Who knows what the assassin is imagining? Perhaps he believes himself a crocodile, stalking prey that stands along the banks of the river. Perhaps he is a hippo, rolling about in the water to escape the sunlight. Whatever the daydream, Sem brings it to a close by inhaling deeply and slowly bringing himself beneath the surface of the water. Only a small stream of bubbles announces his presence, and soon even these stop.
An ear flicks at the awkward sound of... well she doesn't know what to call it, but its coming from begind her. Holding her breath, to stop the sound of her own breathing, Shausha listens. This place is creepy. It doesn't bother her or anything, but it does make her suspicious of potentual plotting.
For the lions and lioness that thought that Kijani was a lazy ass lion that did nothing, well he's about to prove them wrong. Incomes Kijani from stage left, carrying a rather dead wilderbeast in his jaws as he heads closer to the waterhole. The presence of the others aren't noted yet, but the smell of the kill might lure them out of the shadows.
One can't smell underwater, even one so in love with the water as Sem. As such, he does not know Kijani is even there . . . at least not yet. The assassin emerges from the abyss silently, with only the soft squishing of mud and the disturbed water giving away his presence. He's come up on the side of the waterhole nearest Shausha, though whether or not this is on purpose is anyone's guess.
After a long moment of trying to appear dead Shausha just plainly says skrew it and lets go her breath. Regaining what she had lost, the intake of air is the very instant she takes notice to the scent of freshly killed meat. Removing her paw from her face, the lioness peers outward and the first thing she sees if Kijani. Well, isn't that a surprise. Rolling to her stomich she looks at him for a moment, then shifts her gaze to where he came... ah, there it is. Standing up, she heads for the kill, holding off on doing something to it for a moment, then drags it over closer to the water.
When Shausha comes over and hesitates, Kijani sets the kill down on the ground and let's her carry it off to the waterhole as he heads for his rock that overhangs the water. Once he climbs up on top of it, he looks down at the water and spots ripples flowing across it. He follows them to where Sem got out and he archs an eyebrow. Nothing else is said as he then lays down on the rock and looks out at the two of them.
When Shausha gets up and moves away, Sem tracks her movements with a steady eye, until he spots the kill. Well, it seems the lazy Kijani has finally gotten up and done something! Instead of following Shausha to the carcass, the assassin glances over at Kijani with an arched eyebrow, which might be hard to see under the sopping wet mass of his 'mane'. Then, not even bothering to shake himself off, Sem traipses over to a dry spot and drops down on his haunches. He's not terribly hungry, but even if he was, he wouldn't share a carcass with Shausha.
Looking up the moment she drops the carcass, the wet apperence of Sem makes her arch an eyebrow. She'll never understand his whole fatuation with water.. she doesn't think she wants to either. Looking down to the carcass then back to Sem, she takes a seat, waits a moment then shrugs. More for her then... he doesn't want to eat with her thats fine. She didn't plan on shareing anyways. Ripping into the flesh she makes it look as tempting as possible; anything to get that look of.. you biotch.
[OOC] Sem'Nome does that look so very well, hoyes. It looks like >.o
The good thing about being in a rogue group is that you don't have to stick to a specific place. Thus so happens that Haki has arrived in these parts, and so coincidentally, Shausha seems to be here too. With a couple other unknown lions, as far as the young rogue can see. Whoever they are, Shausha seems friendly with them. They should pose no threat, hence Haki approaches the group silently, but not stealthily. His presence is intended to be made known.
With the new smell in the air, Kijani raises his head and he glances around; his eyes scanning the area around him as he stands up off of his rock. With a turn of his head, he looks over in Haki's direction and he lets out a low growl. New lion on his turf, and he wasn't told of it? He's going to have to talk to his brother.
Oh, but Kijani's not the only one to notice the new threat. Sem, is quick to spot Haki, and immediately his lips curl back to expose glistening, able fangs. The growl he emits is not low, but loud and threatening, and the assassin's eyes narrow at the perceived intruder. Sem even gets onto his feet and begins to stalk forward, displaying clear hostility in body posture and the positioning of his ears. Just say the word, Kijani, and the lion will be dead before his corpse can even hit the ground.
Face full of blood busting meat... Shausha looks up just as Sem breaks to what looks like a random direction. Its the growls that cause her to follow the assassin vile actions across the way to Haki. Snorting just alittle, she swallows. Why is it always her that has to settle things. Well, if she would just tell everyone she's made a recruit then perhaps such things wouldn't happen. Licking her chops, Shau acts casual about the whole thing as she gets to all four and follows along behind Sem. Haki is probably wondering what his got himself into right about now; but don't throw yourself into the oven just yet. "I'd make a run for it Haki. Sem can be quiet the killer without his leash." she chuckles. Knowing her words probably don't mean a thing, she throws herself forward. "Down boy." says Shausha flicking her tail like a whip. "Do you attack every lion this way. Do you not even want to know his reason for coming here?" Thats a stupids question Shausha. Sem's a killer and would no sooner kill you for looking at him wrong.
Haki does his browraise. But it isn't surprising for lions to defend their turf, if he so happened to have entered them. However he isn't without caution, the growl from the larger male and the hostile approach of the...female(?) made him pause in his steps and stand in a rather defensive stance, though not too exaggerated, unless the hostile one gets too close for comfort. And as he hoped, Shausha intervened. "Apologies for interrupting your meal, Shausha. I suppose my joining hasn't quite been announced yet?" Perhaps not until he does something significant. But did she say /boy/? Haki glances over to the maleless lion, whom Shausha calls 'Sem'. Then to the built male. Could this be Kijani? He remains stationary and silent for now, for he might not seem all that welcome afterall.
Kijani glances back at Shausha and Sem before he looks back at Haki. "Your joining? I'm sorry, but I don't even know you, nor do I care right at this moment." He looks back at Shausha and asks, or more like demands, "Tell me. Who is this lion and why is he here." He stands tall and proud, more dominant then what they would see from Kijani usally.
When Shausha intervenes, Sem does stand down, though it's rather grudgingly. The assassin was so looking forward to a bit of bloodshed. He casts a glare over at Shausha, covering his fangs with a sullen frown, then glowers once more at Haki before turning a sulking back to his spot, a soft growl rumbling within his throat. It's the closest he can come to a grumble.
Shausha smiles just loving how easy it is for her to cause disappointment. One of these days she just expects to be disreguared and torn through. Won't that be the day. Poor Sem, he'll get his chance one day. Looking to Haki she shakes her head, "No need to be sorry. I eat to often as it is. Your arrival is worth the interuption." All the while as she says this she hears Kijani demand an explanation. She turns to him with a disgusted look on her face. He's lucky his Harimu's bother, otherwise she would be so nice. "Pardon Kijani. His name is Haki and /I/ invited him to stay." a small amount of sarcarim on her tone. "If you have a problem with that, then I suggest you take it up with Harimu. " She doesn't have to explain herself on why she brought the rogue here. He's here and thats all that needs to be said, so learn to like it or suffer.
wouldn't
And so he was right. This one is Kijani. He just glances between the large male and the /real/ lioness as she introduces him to the apparent second-in-command. While giving the other slender looking lion a glance. Interesting 'family' he's joined, there's much to look forward to.
Kijani looks over at the smaller lion and glances back at Shausha, "Thank you, Shausha. I will talk to my brother about this." The lion haeds back to his rock and lays back down on it, glancing over at the lioness, and then over at Sem; jsut checking to see that the killer is still there.
The killer's still there, all right, sulking. When Haki glances at him, Sem curls back a lip in a partial, silent snarl. Don't you look at him, he'll rip your eyes out! Then, Sem gives his head a toss, flinging his wet locks out of his eyes, and casts a glance towards the wildebeest carcass. Since no one's making use of it, well, he might as well. So the assassin slinks towards the kill.
That went over smoother than she thought, must be her charm. Shau laughs on the inside. Watching Kijani settle back where he first started, she shakes her head. Turning to the carcass she had left behind, its no surprise that Sem would take advantage of it with her gone. She lets him have it.. wait long enough and another might show up. Heading over to the water, she looks rather bored now. Excitment comes and it goes... it needs to do it more often.
Kijani doesn't blow up to the lioness of the pack, hell if she left harimu would murer him, and then eat his corpse just for the hell of it. He glances over at Shausha, and then over at the carcass. Thank god he already ate.
It's a little disappointing that Shausha doesn't attempt to warn Sem off the carcass, but the assassin copes. He lays down on his belly beside the cadaver and unceremoniously buries his muzzle within the opened belly, scavenging for whatever tender innards might be left. The only sign that he's enjoying himself is the rhythmic waving of his tailtuft.
Shausha sits at the waters edge; one last look given to the males in the area. Watching Sem seemlessly enjoy himself with the carcass she smirks. Least someone is happy for the time being. Turning away, she gets a drink then soon lays down. Now what?
Kijani glances over at Sem, eyeing the swaying tail for a moment before he looks down at the water in front of him. Muttering something to himself before he just says, "Shausha...by chance. Do you know where brother is? He's been gone for a while."
A pair of cobalt eyes appear over the side of the wildebeest as Sem lifts his head, muzzle still within the depths of the wildebeest carcass, but his attention now on Shausha. He's scrutinizing her, ears perked for her response.
Shausha looks up to Kijani when he speaks to you. "I saw him not just yesturday. Wasn't in the best of moods either. The Mwenyezi King, under his skin aswell." It's her fault that it is, she went there looking for the cub and he couldn't help but follow her. It's going to get him killed one of these days. "Knowing him, he's probably around here someplace, plotting his own demise no doubt." Little faith she has in his actions it seems.
Kijani hms a bit. "Seems that he's been having some trouble lately. I might have to talk to him about that when I see him next." He looks back at the lioness and says, "Tell me. Do you remember the direction in which Brother went?"
Shausha shakes her head. "That could be hard to tell. He goes where ever his paw take him." she pauses, "He'll show soon. He'll want to know how our newest member is getting along. And i'm sure there are a few things he'd like to ask out youngest aswell." so many reasons for Harimu to arrive, but none of what she's said gives answer to Kijani's question. She doesn't know which way he went; she's not watching his ever move after all.
Kijani gives a small nod. "It's futile to try and find him," mutters the lion to himself as he then lays his head down on his paws and looks over at Shau. "Also so many things that Harimu needs to do and he's never around to do them. Kinda like him, isn't it."
Sem lifts his bloodstained muzzle up above the wildebeest carcass to regard the other two leonines curiously. Oh, what's this? Dischord in the 'family'? Could this lead to bloodshed?
"It's like him, yes." remarks Shau, "But we mustn't allow him to proceed with what may be his last." Is that a little sign that she cares for the big baphoon- Perhaps.
Kijani nods slightly. "It is like him. And it's getting to be quite annoying to be honest." He looks up at the starry sky and says, "What do we have to do? Keep him under watch the entire day and night?"
Or kill him? Sem has nothing against Harimu . . . but he doesn't exactly love the rogue either. If it meant his gain, Sem wouldn't hesitate to rip open Harimu's throat. And the same can be said for anyone, really, Shausha and Kijani included.
"I wouldn't say that, nor would I do it." she says in rebuttle. "Wasting time and energy keeping watch over him is a task I'm not willing to uphold." she looks away. "There are other ways I am sure. But would we be willing to do them." Whether what she has in mind be bad or good, she does think something else can be down other that keeping an eye on the rogue.
Kijani grins. "We could always have birds follow him around. And report back within a certain interval of one another." He glances over at Sem and archs an eyebrow before he looks back at Shau, laying his head back down on his paws. "Though we must find a way to know where he is at a certain time."
Or kill him? Sem's tail gives a lash, and the assassin extracts himself from the wildebeest carcass to sit up and begin cleaning his face. If he's dead, one will always know where he is, and it'll save the group on bird-power.
Shausha nods slowly. "It does not matter what is done, as long as something in done." Killing him would be to easy.. yes easy. She knows a few who wouldn't mind his carcass, but no... she'll let him live just long enough to... ahem. "We could just let him get killed, save us time and worry." Did she just say that... don't let him know. "Or I could..." she stops there, thinking it'll never work. Placing her head down she sighs. All this talk about Harimu makes her head hurt.
Kijani looks over at Shausha and says, "You do know that if Harimu dies. I'm going to kill his killer, right? No matter who is it." He says that with a malicious smile and a flash of his teeth.
Ooh? At the mention of killing Harimu, Sem lifts his head and his ears pick up in a very noticeably excited manner. A smile curls up the corners of his mouth, and he lets out a soft, purring growl. His tail gives a few swishes as well. Oh, do let him help, oh please!
Shausha looks up at him without moving. Yea, she knows that, thats why if he dies it won't be by her paw. A sudden glance is then given to Sem... what if.. nah. "Lets hope it doesn't have to come to that." she says turning back to Kijani then the waters.
Kijani shifts his gaze over to Sem quickly and lets out a low growl towards him. He shakes his head at him, basically telling him 'No' and he looks back at Shausha. Then he looks back at the water in front of him.
Awww, bummer. Sem frowns and sulks a bit, hanging his head. Talk about disappointment.
Kijani scoffs when he looks back over at Sem, try and kill his brother. Kijani'd have you on the ground faster then your tail can flick. He looks back at the water and mutters to himself.
So killing Harimu is out of the question, not like she was going to anyways, but the idea is tempting. Letting out a sigh, she looks up at Kijani then away. This is real awkward now.. its to quiet. "We'll figure something out, even if I have to be the one that does it." There she goes again putting herself on the line for the sake of someones life.
