Runako meets up with Bug for the first time since he was ubducted and brainwashed. XD What are Runa's plans and what's he doing in Mwenyezi?
Mwenyezi - Outside the Caves
----
Bughudhi
Kohrin
Runako
----
A day or two has passed since Runako has left the company of the rogues and returned to Mwenyezi to see his brother. He mentioned staying here, to never leave again; but he's unsure about that. Following Kyltora that other night to the caves, his found himself seperated from the group as he slept, unsure of how his renound presence will affect those who know what he's done. He woke several hours after the sun rose and made for the nearest shelter outside the caves. Keeping an eye out for one lion inpaticuar, Runa otherwise, remains as if he weren't even there.
Kohrin is making his return to the Mwenyezi lands, though it's an unsure, gradual thing - he's got no idea what's been going on or what he should be doing, nor how his extended and sudden absence will be received by whoever's currently leading the pride. The red-eyed male simply picks his way through the terrain, neatly sidestepping areas that might end up mussing or muddying his soft coat, which hasn't changed from being his number one priority.
Bughudhi groans as another rising sun stings his eyes. He had been half hoping that he'd be dead by now, just so he didn't have to suffer through healing all these damn cuts, but it looks as though the Spirit has decided to be cruel and let Bug live. He still has yet to move from where he collapsed days ago, and his cuts have only partly healed. They should be healed, except Bug has a nasty habit of moving. He winces slightly as he tries to move his paw, feeling a cut or two rip open again and bleed anew. His coat is a mess of matted fur and blood. Bug hates mornings.
Scanning the area, Runako finds no one awake, but wait who is that. Back around to the left, the young barbary has noticed something, or rather someone else. Looking at the unsightly kept lion, he raises an eyebrow; he doesn't remember ever seeing him around here. Keeping an eye on Kohrin, the sudden sound of movement drawns his attention away back to the caves. Turning his ears back, he finaly catches onto the scent of old blood, perhaps new aswell. Getting up, Runa goes to investigate - little does he knoww it's his uncle's blood thats been spilled.
Kohrin's tail gives a prim swish from side to side as he walks, the young male's stride breaking into more of his more natural saunter. The smell of blood is on the air, which is certainly something of interest. So, instead of taking any real notice of the cub, he picks up his pace and starts to trot, gliding smoothly across the ground with even footsteps.
Bug tries his other paw, hoping that he has healed enough to move into the caves at least. The scabs stretch uncomfortably, but hold. Ok, one down, three to go. The cubs go unnoticed by the wounded king, as his face is pointed away and he can smell nothing over the sickening scent of his own blood and sweat. He tries one of his back paws, and instantly feels the warm wetness of blood trickling down his leg. Well now, that wasn't good.
It takes only a moment for the young lion to reach the mouth of the caves, but before he reaches the lip the very lion he was actually trying to avoid is discovered. No use keeping hidden now. Watching as Bug struggles to make an advancement into the caves he tilts his head in question. But before he says even a word, he looks just beyond his uncle to Kohrin. Silent he remains. After a moment of observation, Runako moves before his uncle. An evil thought passes through his head and he grins for only a second. Wincing with the act of sympathy, "The past finaly catching up with you I see, uncle." He jokes, "I bet it hurts. What happened?" Not careing the slightest he decides to make it look like he does anyway by moving closer and inspecting.
Kohrin stays still once he reaches the older male, flicking one ear back while he just /peers/ down his nose - almost as if Bughudhi was some kind of incredibly disgusting ball of fish slime. His nostrils flare a little to better take in the scent of the monarch's blood, and he takes a slight sidestep before lowering to his haunches so he can sit and watch the exchange between uncle and nephew.
Bug's mind momentarily blank in a state of panic. This cub was not supposed to be here! Outwardly, he shows no more than a small stumble at Runako's words. "Why are you ..." Bug trails off, realizing that would be admitting that he knew where Runako has been. "Where have you been, cub? Unauthorized travel to the pride lands is treason. You know of this, I am sure," Bug whispers between gasps of breath. That stumble took it's toll rather fast, as many of the cuts that were withstanding the pressure of Bug standing upon them burst open as he catches himself.
Moving back around to face Bug from the front, Runako narrows his eyes for just a moment as he catches the slight question slip of 'why are you... here'. Shaking his head, he looks up acting like he didn't hear that. As for the real question he grins. "Travel to the Pridelands... who told you I went there?" Runa knows all to well that Bug knew where he was... he was there when Harimu brought him back that one time; or has his uncle forgotten. Playing along, "And why would I go there? Everyone knows they'd kill one like me the first chance they got." he snickers under his breath. As cuts burst open... an ugly sight, Runa takes a few steps back. "You know, you really shouldn't move." He suggests, jesturing to obvious open wounds.
Kohrin bends his head a tad and allows the fur on the back of his neck to ruffle slightly, the adolescent's growing mane prickling upwards here and there in accordance with the movement. "The cubling is right. You'll just hurt yourself more if you keep trying to drag yourself around." Does he care? No. But Bughudi seems as likely to have information as the next lion, and at the moment he's basically helpless. It's a good situation.
Bug knows exactly how precarious his current wounded state is. And that is why he remains standing, feeling the blood slowly run down his paws. "Perhaps I will lay down later," Bug says off handedly, as though nothing was wrong. He was one of the few males in the pride, and he knows how quickly some would jump at the chance of overtaking the pride when weakness is shown. Bug turns his attention fully on Runako, trying to remember if he was there when Bug was dealing with the rogue. "What do you want, cub?" Harimu will be dealt with later.
What does Runako want.. why, he wants Bughudhi dead of course. That'll have to wait, however; even if this poises the right time to strike. Side stepping he thinks for a moment then answers. "I want... " Whats a good fake answer. "I wanted to say I'm back." Thats got to make Bug all cheery inside right - his answer to that: No. "I got tired of wondering around, so.. here I am." He points to himself open pawed, taking a seat. "I hope I haven't returned at a bad time." How arrigate is that when you know things couldn't be any worse.
Kohrin has skiped his turn.
"Bad time? No, not at all, cub," Bug says sarcastically. "Your mother is dead, the pride is in chaos, and I'm hurt. Not a bad time at all." Bug takes another step toward the caves and feels another cut, a big one on his paw, reopen. Well then, trying to sleep tonight was going to be interesting.
Runako nods the instant Bug stops talking. That's three times his been told his mother is dead; if only he could show he cared each time with a tear rather than with claws. With the pride in chaos and his uncle hurt, things couldn't be any better. To bad Bug can't see it that way. "You need to work on your lying, Uncle." he smirks. Moving out of the way, he huffs. "You never did say how you got those cuts." He's asked that before hasn't he...
Kohrin has skiped his turn.
Work on his lying? Bug could tell a beast it's nighttime at noon and get them to believe him. "A fight, cub. A fight." How much had Harimu told the cub? His presence here could be very...problematic. Bug makes a mental note of that, and starts thinking of other ways to neutralize the damage that this cub could potentially do. Maybe Harimu needed to be tipped off on the whereabouts of his favorite pupil.
A fight.. sounds intriging; but a fight with whom. Runako doesn't ask anymore questions instead he lets Bug continue his endevours- like getting into the caves. "I see. Well I hope things work out alright for you." Yeah.. right. "I'd hate to find out something horrible has happened to my... /favoite/ uncle." Is that sarcasim in the juvies voice. Turning away now, Runa heads for nearby cover.
Kohrin is no longer in the pose order.
Bug will talk to him later. In private. But soon, before many more pridemembers realize Runako has returned. "Be careful yourself, cub. If a lioness or two get it into their heads that you are a traitor for some reason, then I suggest you watch your back." Another step. Another reopened cut.
Runako looks back at his uncle. "Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself." He smiles. If Runa is a traitor to the pride, we'll soon see enough. Looking back to his front, he settles on a nearby rock before watching Bug tear open another cut. He shakes his head.
