While Bug is unable to move, while he's just there in the caves, being a lazy King, Reo has the opportunity to get away from that place, away from his uncle and all the problem. One thing is sure, he feels better, alone, away from home... And as close as he can get to his brothers. Abi is on the Pridelands... He should be fine there, blind or not, Reo is sure the Pridelanders will take good care of the little blind stuborn cub. As for Runa... Reo is worried about him, a lot to be honest. He left with some rogues, probably dead by now, who knows... Reo can only assume. But there's still hope, one day, he'll get away from this lands and will go look for them. Bug needs him right now, and Reo needs his uncle... So, he'll stay. Just like the other days, like the past week... He comes here during the night, staying up all night to see the sunrise... And it's just beautiful, how the sun comes up, he loves it, he's curious, why does that happen? Maybe he'll never know. So, the sun coming up, giving light to the dark lands of Mwenyezi, and the cub sitting on top of a rock, looking at the sun... It hurts!
It started out as a decent things to do, leaving, but as he got farther and farther from the remote waterhole things just didn't seem to be so perfect anymore. He didn't tell them where he was going and the worse part about it was that he left during the night, the rogues more active time; their probably out looking for him right now. He hopes it's not Harimu who finds him first cause he knows that if it's him, it'll be more then just an alarming threat this time. However, the way Runako sees it, they don't need to know about everything he does now do they. He'll probably regret that later. Making for the ravine on the Mwenyezi side, Runa's minds is set on one thing and thats finding his brother- if he's still alive that is. From one side of the ravine to the other- to think he barely made it the first time he tired -the young barbary takes forward.
It's Kutamani's time...sunrise. The former queen of Mwenyezi could often be seeing stalking some intangible in the first rays of day, and not infrequently by this very ravine. It's too bad she's gone, then. The new queen (who is still going by the title of Baroness as a formality) would rarely be awake at this hour, not since she and Kuta worked out their schedule of leadership. The fact that Kyltora is awake and wandering sleepily is a sure sign that things are changing...and that Kuta really isn't coming back. She notices Idredh'Reo on the cusp he's chosen...and smiles. Let him take pleasure where he can. She won't interrupt just yet.
Hamidi is on patrol, efficiently combing through every part of the Mwenyezi lands on the lookout for trouble. The rising sun makes his targets easier to spot, though he has yet to find anything of worry. Ah- what's that, there? A male. Not from the pride. Instantly, he snaps into hyper alert and notices more movement. Ah yes, the Baroness and the cub... Idredh'Reo. Focusing back to the male, he makes a direct path towards him. Objectives: Eliminate the threat. Protect the Baroness and the cub.
Someone is there, he knows it... Reo doesn't have to turn to know who is the one behind him. It's that lioness... The King's mate... He likes her, a lot really. She's one of th few creatures of Mwenyezi that doesn't hurt him, everyone else probably wants him dead or wants to hurt him a little. The cub stands up slowly, shaking himself... Ok, it's not wise to look at the sun anymore, he doesn't want to hurt himself or anything... And his eyes were already burning. The cub turns around, flattening his ears as he sees the lioness, but offering a smile and a gentle nod. She's the Queen now, mom died and now she's Queen... Great isn't it? You lose something and there's someone else to replace it. Well not really, he still needs his brother, "Don't tell my uncle." Bug will be mad if he knew that Reo was close to the Pridelands again.
Deeper into Mwenyezi he gets, which doesn't appear very far, Runako doesn't want to be found by someone who lacks the eye of identification. Though it seems his own luck as run out just moments after his arrival when the rising sun gives him away like a spotlike on stage. Coming to an instant stop when Hamidi is found making a bee line his way, Runako ducks down into the grass. Maybe he was better off where he was.. no; he shakes his head. He's got to find his brother. Jumping up from the grass, he takes a quick look around. Ah, there he is. Up on a rock, his brother Reo is found, but his not alone; Kyltora is there with him. Why can't think ever go easy for him. Looking back to Hamidi, the unfamiliar lion, he lowers back into the grass. Be silent, be still... but quick. Bolting forward, Runa only hopes his reaches Reo enough to be noticed before being bumbarded by the lands guards.
Kyltora is in a strange sleepy state between two absolutes: slumber and alertness. She normally has a good bead on where everyone around her is, and why--but now, while she's still sleepy from altering her schedule, she's still possessed of her superlative hearing...and she hears both Runako and Hamidi. But she doesn't know who they are...so instead of lying still, she walks to the ravine, up the ridge step by step, and sits calmly on the edge, next to Reo. She doesn't say anything to him, just smiles wisely. She watches Runako with vague curiosity...and flicks her tail generally in Hamidi's direction...basking in the sounds of the morning.
Hamidi steadily picks up speed as the male seems to spot him. As he goes in the grass and back out, the guard tenses. What is he up to, hopping about like that? Whatever it is, this lion doesn't like it one bit. So, re cap: the new male has seen him, he is now hiding- movement! Glancing quickly between the two atop the nearby rock and back at the rustling grass, he weighs the odds- go for the intruder and risk having him slip by, or go near a superior without permission and cut off the male. Launching himself up, he makes his way to go between the pair and the interloper, hoping he'll have time soon to apologize for his rudeness.
A smile? What does that mean? Great, now Reo doesn't know what'll happen. Hey, a smile is good, he should be happy, everything will be ok, ok? Nope... he doesn't know. Reo sighs, looking at the lioness and wondering what is she doing here. Kylt wants to run away too? That'd be something, Reo would go with her, maybe... No, uncle Bug needs him. So many things in mind, they confuse him, he doesn't know what to do, and he soooo wishes there was an easy way to find his answer. Well, there it is, your easy answer... A distraction! All those thoughts are broken, taken away from his mind when he hears something moving, grass... Hamidi making a run? No, something else. Reo's eyes go wide when he sees what looks like his brother, "Runa!!!" The cub calls out as loud as he can, smilling as he trots towards his brother. Hamidi or not, Kyltora or not, this cub will kick his brother for leaving him.
The Scout of the Mwenyezi, well scout in training after her recent half success, half failure in the Pride-lands securing the Peace talks and getting the blood brothers to meet Bug. Hey if it wasn't for her Kyltora wouldn't be the Queen right now. Of course Reo, doesn't know Fah was involved in this....plot, or coup so to speak. Anyway, the cheetah scout has been trailing behind Runako for awhile now out of sight and quietly gaining ground with each passing moment. She followed him here while she was patrolling and now knows what his intentions are. She will wait on the identification though....when the time is right. Instead she nods to the guard from behind Runako...and puts a paw up to her muzzle to hopefully keep him quiet as she positions herself behind the cub to prevent a chance of escape if he should start any trouble. But the young cub Reo, identifies the cub for her....So now Fah pipes up. "Aye, it is indeed Runako, back from a 'royal' adventure. Isn't that right Runako?" She asks the young barbary. At the same time she notices her queen and bows. "Ah, Queen Kyltora, good day to you."
One paw in front of the other, grass in his face, and a lion on the move. Runako has never been one to let someone stand in his way but this times it looks like he doesn't have a choice. Coming to a stop once more, he huffs. 'Get out of the way!' he says to himself before rushing through the grass once more though only to have been stoped once more by the very voice of his brother. "Reo..?" he lets out quietly peeking outward. Normally a smile would appear on Runako's maw but this time nothing appears there; his been founds, spied on, and hunted down- what a day. When hearing Fahari's voice behind him, Runa looks back towards the cheetah. "A royal adventure... spying on me have you." Half a grin moves along his face. "I should have suspected such." Turning around to face Fahari, leaving the attention of his brother behind him for a moment. "How long have you been following?" he asks, not so much caring as he is curious.
Kyltora doesn't actually hear Fahari...the cheetah is skilful enough at quiet movement that she escapes even the queen's ears. But she does see her, sitting from her excellent vantage point, and shivers a little bit, still apparently happy. She starts to get up when Reo does, then sits down again. This isn't her business just now. The brother must be allowed to reunite...and she must be allowed to watch them...primarily because she wants her own assessment of how suitable either of them might be for an heir, regardless of Bug's opinion. "Welcome home, Fahari," she says regally.
Hamidi stops quickly, after seeing the cheetah. The two are brothers? Hm. He eyes Runako warily, standing close by- just in case. Ah, he's distracted by Fahari, excellent. The guard takes the opportunity to dip his head in greeting to the queen. He stays bowed a beat longer than normal, by way of apology for not acknowledging her sooner. Immediately after, however, his attention is focused on the brothers, alert for anything dangerous.
It's Runako! Reo is not dreaming this, this is real, he can see him, smell him, and even touch him as he gets close enough to nuzzle his brother. It's him, there, alive and... Only a bit scarred, but alive! It's nice, to have his brother's scent again... To see him, "I missed you... I... Why did you leave?" Leave, not leave ME, because he does feel abandoned here, alone, "I looked for you and..." Oh yes, there are more important things to say that his brother must know. The black cub's ears go flat behind his head, and he looks down, almost whimpering! "Mom's gone... And Abi too..." There, straight to the point, there's no need to cry anymore.
Fahari nods and bows to her queen......yes the one she helped take the throne...by bringing the blood brothers there to assasinate Kuta...it was all one grand plot. She nods. "I trust all has been well since I was away? As you probably know I have secured the Peace talks with the Pride-lands, hopefully a victory for us all.." She says and smiles. At least she's done some good right? She smiles. "And as you see, Runako has returned." She smiles at Reo. "See there's no reason for you to be lonely anymore, your brother is back. And guess what...I was the one who found him...in the Pride-lands." She grins and nods to the guard Hamidi as he exits. "Cheerio...sleep well....was a pleasure meeting you." She turns back to her queen. "It has been quite an adventure indeed...." A hint of pain in her voice is evident but only a little. She is still in shock from what happened when she was at Pride Rock with her family.
Runako isn't as surprised to see his brother again as Reo is him, but he would be lieing if he said he wasn't glad to see him. Leave... Runa didn't leave he just went on vaction with a bunch of rogues; and while he was at it he learned a few things. Looking at Reo he blinks. "Did they tell you that I left.. Whatever they have told you, it's a lie." He say sternly. A majority of it might be true, but others are not. He did join the rogues, he did almost kill his brother, he did lay tears for the sake of his mothers death. May she rest in peace, but the one thing he did not do is leave his brother. Looking to Fahari for a moment he rolls his eyes. Looking back to Reo he half smiles. "Let me tell you something brother... I'll never leave you again." There is something in his voice when he says this that is different, almost as if he has something planed. "Don't you begin to think otherwise."
Kyltora, now waking up from the arrival of absent faces, scoots up to the edge of the ravine and lies down, hugging the edge familiarly with her forelegs, a casual position, or perhaps one of fascinated observation. "Welcome back, true messenger! I am glad to be here, at the border of our domain, to hear your excellent news of success! A fresh, green messenger is always a risk..." Here, she bows her head slightly in gracious congratulations. "...and therefore, well done, Fahari. Come, come, and rest! We have food back at the cave! And the weather promises to be delightful today!" She continues to keep an eye and a half on the two brothers all through her speech of congratulations. She has nothing to offer them they can't offer each other...but to learn their true temperaments is a most worthy goal.
Yes, there's something else behind Runa's voice, his face smiles but his eyes say otherwise. Reo smiles to his brother... It's ok, at least he knows Runa is alright, if he leaves again, then he'll be waiting again in the ravine for him, if it worked one time, then mabe it will work again in the future, who know. The Queen and the cheetah completely ignored, his brother is far more important to him right now, "I know you won't... You need me to protect you, right?" The cub sits in front of his brother, smilling at him. Yes, he loves his brother, as much as he loves his sister and Abi... He's glad to see Runako again. Nothing else matters now.
Even though Runako had come back with a spoken lie, there is something else about him that isn't right; something that might not be visable at the present moment. He came here for a reason and it isn't to make peace, or ask for forgiveness for his betrayal to his pride... it's written all over him.; you just got to know where to look. Anyhow, he shakes his head to his brother comment. "I don't need your protection Reo..." he replies then lowers his voice to a whisper, "It is you who needs mine." What he means by this is simple and will be explained in time. Taking a seat he glances to Klytora for a moment then looks back to Reo. "So besides from being glad to see me, how else have you been?" he flicks his tail out randomly behind him trying to be as relaxed as possible.
Well, he's been crying like a girl for days, he's been lost, wandering all places by himself, he's been sad, depressed, hungry, cold... Where to start? "Good... Stil alive." He simply says. Yes, his brother's previous words make him wonder what he meant, was he serious? Does Runako know something he doesn't? Is he in real danger? Reo looks at Kylt for a moment, thinking, she knows a lot,he'll ask later for sure, "And you? I see you got some new scars." Indeed, and that makes Reo a little more jealous, those are cool! But painful, he knows that.
He can see that his brother is still alive, he stands before him now, does he not. It makes him feel good to know that. Following the gaze back to Kylt Runako raises an eyebrow but say nothing. After a moment, he twitches his scared eye. "Yes, well earned too." he comments. "I think they give me... personality. if that is the right word for it." he chuckles. "Besides from a new look, I have managed to keep myself in one piece as you can see." he pats himself to make sure.
Kyltora knows a lot...it's true. But she's a little busy with two things--her own thoughts, and the wonder of the sunrise. In the world of her own thoughts, Kyltora is thinking of beautiful things she knows that Idredh'Reo doesn't....things like the thrill of understanding and compassionate government...the sublime symmetry of how her youthful dreams have morphed into the desires she now holds in a changed Mwenyezi...and little, tangential details like the fact that she was, in large part, responsible for the death of the beloved mother of these two princes. And the sunrise makes Kyltora revel in the way the world turns--to her, the sun is not truly rising over the earth, nor is the earth circling the sun, but the two are both circling one another, like lovers too shy to meet...and she wonders if the entire world, on some level, is circling in this way...and the Mwenyezi queen closes her eyes with the sheer majesty of it all.
Things in life never go the way you want them to, right? Reo never thought he'd be the one to take his brother's eyes; Reo never wanted that to happen... Yet he understands and accepts it, maybe he can understand what runs inside Kylt's mind, maybe he can talk with her and at least pretend he understands what she's saying, "I'm glad to see you're ok... That's all that matters." For now yes, soon Runako will leave again, Reo knows it, but he doesn't want to think too much about it, "What have you been doing?" He wants to know how his brother gots those scars of course, "Been training?"
A silent yawn escapse Runako as he looks to the ground. Seems his traveling has finally cause up with him. Digging his claws into the ground, his ears forward then back he smiles before looking back up. "What have I been doing... not much really." he leans closer, "But don't go tell... uh.. nevermind." Best not to mention the rogues here, least not yet. "I train.." more like geting beat up. "I've learned lots of things. got lots of bumps and bruises, but it was worth it."
Bumps and bruises? Wow... With Reo it's more like slashes and hits and claws and teeth... You know, something not NICE! "I see..." Sure, those scars on Runa's body look like bumps and bruises, now one would ever think they were made with claws and stuff... No sir! The cub nudges his brother with his nose, tilting his head to the cave's direction, "Come on, you said you weren't leaving." At least one night... He wants to be with his brother.
Kyltora stands up and makes room for the reunited brothers. She has no flowers with her today, and no entourage, but she can still make a petaled carpet for them with the pride of her graceful steps and the strength of their collective imagination. She leads the way, walking as though she has no idea they were there, but making their return to the caves a heralded and honored event. There will be interesting times ahead...and plenty of delightful friends to share them with. How satisfying!
Runako holds in a yawn, looking quite ridiculus. He never said that there wasn't any scaring involved... what he could of swore he did. Ohwell, he must of left it out with good reason. Looking to the caves just moments later he nods. "I said that, yes." Standing, as Kylt passes by, he watches her briefly before taking slow steps in follow, waiting for Reo of course.
Waiting for Reo? He's already on his way to the cave, next to Kylt, walking closer to the older lioness. She's safe, or Reo thinks of her that way, unlike Bug, Kylt is nice to him. The cub looks back at his brother, chirping at him. Come on! Don't fall behind!
