One of my big disappointments of ER was the whole 'panthers are evil' image. Granted they're aloof and one of the more viscious hunters, but they can be on the good side of things just as much as lions and the like.
So, I'm putting out a hat to see how much interest there would be in some manner of leopard/cheetah/small cat group that is, perhaps, spiritual, enlightened, in search of the greater meaning of things. They could act as something of a middlegroup for waring groups or a source of aid during harsh times. Or they could be a source of mystery.. there's lots of possibilities.
I realize that having as few entries on @groups as possible is a good thing, but I thought I'd try and see how much interest there might be for this.

I'd <3 to take part in this, gives me a reason to bring Shaleesa back into the mix. This could be what she was doing before she decided to run off with her sister and start Sheetswa.

I'm in the process of creating a leopard character, so I'd be willing to join her in =D

Hee. This reminds me a bit of Velaera, though. I deviated my new version of the leopards, perhaps you could get a bit more specific and single this bunch out? I love the concept, but my mind begs for more details. D8 Maybe I'm just nosy.

Like you pointed out we're really trying to keep down on the @groups so people don't spread themselves too thin. However, that's not to say you can't get together with a group of people to do this! It just won't be listed (probably).

I was trolling for ideas by posting this, honestly I mentioned a few ideas, though I'll see what I can spew out in the next few lines: ---------------------------------'Religious', perhaps fanatical group, dedicated to peaceful relations. Is very practised in giving honor to the creatures they slay to eat. Welcomes anyone that comes their way with kindness and tranquility, but is decidedly strict about the manner in which visitors tread their land and will resort to visciousness if disrespect is displayed. ---------------------------------Perhaps a reverse of the other, evil group, as in being made entirely of males. Females are either completely barred or are disallowed from anything more than tending cubs. Having any sort of relationship with one is a big 'no-no' except for the sake of breeding, in which case the leaders decide the parantage. Male cubs, naturally, are favored and cared for while females are either left to their mother's tending only, 'donated' to a neighboring land, or 'done away with'. Activities revolve around being the biggest and best at anything with varrying degrees of jeuvenile behavior. Basically one big Bachelor pad. ---------------------------------Shamanistic and highly cultural group. Takes neutrality to the extreme and does anything to avoid involving themselves in outside conflict. At the same time they are highly nosey and make a point of knowing as much as possible about everyone and everything around them. Knowledge is gathered through spying, subterfuge, trade, pimping, whatever it takes without sparking too much suspiscion and inciting conflict. Quite good at forming trusts and suspiscions at the same time. The knowledge they gather can be shared, but at a high premium. Many of the group are skillful healers, councelors, and scouts, so while you may not really want to deal with them, for fear of losing your secrets, you really can't avoid not dealing with them. ---------------------------------Roaming flock of flirty, sexy kittys! ---------------------------------There's a few ideas to chew on

I like the opposite thing. AND they'd be opposites in the fact that the males are peaceful, and the ladies are out for blood. XD And DUDE. They could trade babies. o.o

Heh, ooh, that's a thought. They've got a mutual agreement going on to shuttle unwanted cubs from one side to the other while, at the same time, hating each other for every reason imaginable. Plenty of space for the secret lovers bit and all that fun stuff

Plenty of space for the secret lovers bit and all that fun stuff Yes! I'd not thought of that. This whole dynamic could create a non-lion dynamic too. Of course there are warring prides, but what ever happened to everyone else? This might answer some things. Though, with the shuttling, I imagine my end might kill more often. But if the boy had good parents or something, they might be more inclined to send him away instead of death or becoming a slave/eunuch. edit: this also reminds me of traditional African Empires, in some way.

Can we maybe include both groups in one @group together? I don't know how we'd do it, but it would really cut back.

Well.. hmm. Trouble with combining them is that the other leopard group is straight-forward evil. I'm looking to form a good/neutral group that'd decidedly NOT the other group. Combining them wouldn't really work out.
While the 'mirror image' idea is interesting I'm not sure how much could be done with it aside from the inter-group tensions and relationships.
I'm swaying more towards one of the other ideas I presented. A neutral, roaming, shamanistic group could be unlisted since it's not likely to be recruiting for members very much.. would be more of an enigma that floats around and interacts with everyone.
Thoughts?

Don't we want shamans to be really rare? I mean, what's the point if everyone's playing them?

Shamans/Spiritualists/Knowledge dealers. Not so much meant to be the only source of healing abilities (I'd rather the monkey-types be the one to crack open coconuts), but as kind of a friendly but shadey group that will give an edge to those that want it, but for a price. Their intentions are good, ultimately, but the run both sides of the fence. They may provide healing knowledge, such as where to find a rare herb, spiritual guidance and knowledge about the history of things, gentle assistance to those that are lost or exiled. In the end they'll demand a certain ammount of repayment for their assistance, though. I guess you could compair this idea to the Mob, just less drive bys and no cement shoes

OMG. You know what? These guys could totally gather supporters that are against the Amazons!Leopards and lead a 'holy war' against them! They could be utterly determined to purge the lands of "those heathen savages"! =D
