For those of you wondering and waiting, I have been paying attention, with next to nothing to add. In my observations anything that could've been said or done by me would have been the rough equivalent of a water-proof bandaid on a three foot hole in the hull of a ship.
I suppose some of you are expecting to hear me say 'Nothing's working, things won't go anywhere, so the MUCK is closed.' But that's not the case. What's going to happen next will be as follows...
I am going to leave the MUCK up for now. It may go down briefly here or there as I shift data between machines. I'm not going to close it because honestly, we still have players. However, in the background I will also be constructing a new place. A place that wasn't built overnight, in a rush, and last minute. When the new place is complete, I'll inform everyone where it is and then I'll allow a transitionary period, moving characters people want to move and things of that nature.
I will note that although I'm going to be making this new place, it isn't going to be available soon. Maybe not for some time, up to a few months. And it's not going to have the same plotline or timeperiod as Kings and Vagabonds. With that in mind, the players can decide what they want to do here. Whether they want to stay around to continue roleplaying and eventually see the new place, or move on to Meadows or Sunrise or any other MUCK that can entertain them. As most of the staff has chosen to resign, wizard management will be minimal on the MUCK. I'll still be there and I'll help when and where I can, but I'm leaving plot movement and control up to the players. Take it wherever you want, folks. Let me know if Timon is ever needed for anything. I'd love to actually roleplay him.
Once the new place is completed I'll have it advertised and invite in anyone who wants to be a member. And hopefully it may live a bit longer.
I'm not going to go on any rant about what killed things, or about how things could have gone differently or who could have done those things. I only want you all to know that I truly enjoyed being able to help entertain so many people for as long as KaV did. Although I may not've always been around to actively be involved, I simply enjoyed seeing people logged in all the time, the boards riddled with activity and creativity, with logs and drawings and plans for plots. Hopefully I can do so again in the future. And next time I'll make sure I'm more involved and aware.
