I've been pondering a possible plot idea for Palandasya, as is mentioned in the Pride's background Chioh and Hukumu overthrew the previous king of the Pride, once named the Laghai Pride and renamed it Palandasya, took its lionesses, etc, etc. My idea is what if one of the sons of the previous king who was exiled upon reaching adolescence returns to the lands, finds his father dead and the pride usurped and renamed with the lionesses considered chattle and beloved 'toys' for the pride males? Naturally, an open challenge is out of the question, at least immediately with two lions in their prime running the show but at the very least this young returned scion can hover on the edge of things and try to win some of the less loyal lionesses over to his side and perhaps find allies with other groups and animals in order to put things to right, as he sees them. Lemme know what you guys think, its even possible to connect this with the Tribulations TP that just ended, perhaps one of the ghost kings decided to tip off this youngster about what was going on back home and lead him back to cause more trouble for the Palandasya Kings? Who knows? Opinions and ideas always accepted.

There'd be no real need for any other of the ghost kings to intervene- Olumide would be, after all, the kid's father. Who I'm planning to bring back should this TP be carried out. Actually, I should probably clarify a bit. Remember how Olumide had the basic personality and mindset of Caligula? In the Laghai pride, Olumide also perpetrated many of the same acts that Caligula did back in the Roman Empire days; orgies, drunken revelries, and good stuff like that. He would likely have /much/ more than just one son; he'd probably have piles of children lying about everywhere from all the lionesses he procreated with. The lionesses-as-chattel thing wouldn't really have changed- if anything, it would have gotten better with the arrival of Chioh and Hukumu, because Olumide was basically obsessed with keeping the females as his 'possessions.' Perhaps this son could band together with some of his numerous half-sisters and brothers (they could be spoofed, or otherwise)? Or! Here's an idea: the lionesses themselves could have killed these Olumide-spawn out of hate for Olumide and that could be another reason this son would want to take revenge- because of the slaughter of his siblings. That would be nice because we wouldn't have to worry about spoofing the children (who would have undoubtedly existed at some point).

Hmmm, doesn't sound like a bad idea really. It could be something we could toss around once we get other feedback about the idea. Thanks for the info, Isoba!

Really liking this idea. Hukumu and Chioh killed most of Olumide's offspring (as lions often do), but there's a good chance that some of the older cubs were able to escape.
I'm hoping the Palandasya will come to a big turning point when Tunu, Sarafina, Uzuri, Hasani, Adhama and Dawa reach adolescence. There's a good chance I'll be killing Hukumu off around that time, too.
I can't speak for Chioh's player, but I wouldn't mind if the kings were eventually overthrown by a coalition of warlord-type lions (maybe five or so? I'd like dibs on one!) who refuse to take queens. Maybe we can work that in? Mwenyezi will probably become a matriarchy if Zira's set to take it over when she reaches adulthood, so it'd be good to have a strong male presence elsewhere on the MUCK when that happens. It would certainly explain how Sarafina ended up at Pride Rock. XD

Sorry I haven't commented on this one earlier. ^^; I've been busy with my new computer, getting it running and such (So fun -.-;; ) But this idea is really cool. I like it. Heh, I would like to play one of the war lords, I need more practice at being evil >3 Though, I would like to see Chioh staying alive until Adhama reaches adulthood.
Other then that, I like this one.

I like this idea. My concept for Sauti is that she was somewhere... uh... ELSE (for various qualities of else) until late in Olumide's rule, shortly before he was overthrown but not so shortly that she didn't see what he was like, so I can see how she might factor into this. Also, a warlord type deal sounds like fun.

I like the warlord idea, but I wonder what would happen to Dawa and Adhama?

I like the warlord idea, but I wonder what would happen to Dawa and Adhama? In true Circle of Life fashion, the cycle could repeat itself yet again. If they're adolescents at the time, they wait until they're adults to try and take back what's rightfully theirs.

Muahaha...if Chioh survives this. It's military training for the two of them. >D Chioh will make then strong enough to get their pride back.

This does seem pretty good. In fact, it's a far-reaching enough idea that I'm not sure it should be called a Tiny Plot. Why do we use the term Tiny Plot for major story arcs that are anything but tiny? It's a Mega-Plot. I have to wonder, though--is that really how Chioh and Hukumu treat their lionesses? As "chattel" and "toys"? I don't have any Palandasya characters, but I haven't gotten that idea from RPing there. Incidentally--Olumide can still be alive if you want, Isoba. Talmaleki told Gwandoya that he'd already secretly killed Olumide before coming to the Valley of the Great Kings, because he was a loose cannon and couldn't be trusted, whatever the result of Tal's experiment. But I reasoned at the time that Tal could have been lying in order to protect this respected friend, in case you wanted to keep playing Olu. Tal's spirit remains in the skull kept by Yaro and Kato, and the other Starseekers are destroyed.

Hukumu certainly sees them as chattel. Toys, I think, would be stretching it. He respects them, and chances are he wouldn't even hit a lioness unless he was provoked.

Chioh doesnt' seem them as Chattel or as Toys. He treats them with respect and kindness. :3 Though he does give in to his darker side once in a while and just gets laid. Not everyone can subdue their darker intentions. :3

But of course, an angry young lion whose father and siblings were killed would be more willing to believe that sort of thing- perhaps he heard a rumour spread by the other lion prides, because they don't know Palandasya too well?
